Q: Do you sell fireworks all year round?
A: Yes! - Uproar are the only company in the North Wales area
with a license to sell Fireworks 365 days of the year.
Q: When can fireworks be set off, is it just November 5th and New Years?
A: No! - Fireworks can be used every day of the
year from 7am to 11pm. The exceptions to this are November 5th
(7am-midnight) and New Years Eve, Chinese New Year and Diwali (7am
until 1am the following morning).
Q: Do you sell all kinds of Fireworks?
A: Yes! - We stock most Fireworks all year round, and can source special items by request.
Q: What do the different Fireworks categories like CAT 3 and CAT 4 mean?
A: In the U.K. all Fireworks fall into four categories:
CAT 1 - Indoor Fireworks like cake-top sparklers, confetti bombs and party poppers.
CAT 2 - Garden Fireworks with a 5 metre safety distance. (also
see next question)
CAT 3 - Display Fireworks with a 25 metre safety distance, the largest fireworks available to the public.
CAT 4 - Professional Fireworks, including large mortar shells, big roman candles and fancy firing cakes.
Q: The label on my fireworks say the safety distance is 8 meters instead of 5 -
so what category are they?
A: All fireworks imported in to the UK have in the past had to
meet the British Standard number BS 7114. However, there is now a new
European standard number BS EN 14035 which the UK is adopting. It is these
fireworks which have increased the safety distance from 5m to 8m for
Category 2 fireworks.
Q: Can you sell me CAT 4 Fireworks?
A: Yes! - If you are a Professional Fireworks Company.
Q: How do I get a CAT 4 License so I can buy CAT 4 Fireworks?
A: There is no such thing as a "CAT 4 License". In order to buy and use CAT 4 Fireworks you need to:
1) prove that you are a professional Fireworks business, AND
2) show us evidence of your properly licensed explosives storage facility, AND
3) show us evidence of adequate specialist insurance cover
